From the School Nurse:
Hi Dallin Parents,
Recently I have seen multiple cases of a stomach virus at the Dallin. The symptoms with this virus are vomiting followed by diarrhea. The first symptom that may be seen is the vomiting with no headache or chills as a warning your child is developing the illness. The virus lasts for 24-28 hours. You should seek medical attention for vomiting if your child is developing symptoms of dehydration (urinating less often, dry mouth, and or weight loss. Please keep a child home from school for 24 hours after vomiting has stopped.
Medication recall:
A voluntary medication recall has been advised by McNeil Consumer Health Care. Please check the recall notice and dispose of any medications that may be on this list.

Bridge the Gap
The Arlington FY11 group and the Arlington Education Foundation (AEF) launched an aggressive campaign this week called the FY11 School Gap Fund.
This one year emergency fundraiser aims to bridge the financial gap of $3.9 M that Arlington faces in FY2011. The Fund will support a priority list proposed by the principals and school administrators, which the School Committee voted to authorize on April 27th.
The campaign will close on June 7, 2010 in order to know which teachers and staff can be rehired for next year.
Go to http://www.arlingtoneducationfoundationma.org/bridgethegap.html to get a full list of the FY11 proposed cuts as well as a list of programs that will be added back with the money the fund raises. PLEASE donate today to help bridge the gap!!
The Redbud
You may have noticed a new tree at the school, located in front of the azalea bushes on the Florence field side of the school. This redbud tree was moved here this week from the yard of one of our 1st graders- Halle Snell. The 5th graders have helped with the important job of watering the tree in these early days. The tree will need continued TLC in the form of watering during the summer months. Anyone interested in helping with this effort should contact Ana Rivera at amrivera95@gmail.com with the Subject Heading 'Redbud'.
